Absenteeism at work Project
This project aims to assist the HR department in understanding absenteeism at work and the factors that influence worker's absenteeism.A wireframe was proposed from the HR department and this wireframe was used as a guide to come up with the dashboard in power bi.HR department also requested a list of healthy individuals that have low absenteeism for a Helathy Bonus program in a budget of $1000. This was done using SQLIt was also requested to calculate wage increase or annual compensation for non-smokers in the company for an insurance budget of $983, 221 for all non-smokers. This was done using SQL.I took the following steps for my analysis
- Create an SQL database and upload project files to the database using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Performing major data cleaning, merging of tables and drawing quick insights in MSSMS.
- Connected the results to power bi directly for mild data cleaning, creation of measures and calculated columns.
- Creating of advanced visualizations following the proposed wireframe by the HR department.Key Insights
- There are about 111 healthy employees with low absenteeism that can qualify for the $1000 Healthy Bonus Program.
- Only 686 healthy employees who do not smoke will be eligible for the annual compensation insurance budget of $983, 221
- According to seasons, August and December recorded the highest absenteeism.
- According to days of the week, Tuesdays to a large extent tends to have the most absenteeism.
- Overweight employees and employees who are social drinkers tend to have highest absenteeism also.

Analyzing Protests in Nigeria: Insights and Trends- What are the most common causes of protests in Nigeria?
- What are the casualties suffered during protests?
- How does protests affects both Nigerians and the Nigerian economy directly and indirectly?These are some of the questions I had in mind when I embarked on this data analysis project. In recent days, waves of protests have come to meet us this early August and many Nigerians and Businesses wonder what this development holds in store for them.This project aims to utilize artificial intelligence and data analytics tools (SQL, Power BI, Excel and Python) to throw more illumination into the causes, impacts and effects of protests in Nigeria.MethodologyThe data for this project was collated from distinct sources namely;- SCADAFRICA protest data on African and Southern American countries.
- Twitter API for posts and articles related to protests and protests in Nigeria.Natural language processing using python libraries like NLTK, Scikit-Learn, TfidfVectorizer, re, wordcloud, etc. was used to process text data and garner insights like 'Major reasons for protests in Nigeria", "Main causes of protests in Nigeria", etc.Here is a snippet of some of the python code used for the analysis.
Power Bi in conjuction with SQL and Excel was used to create databses, clean data, extract insights and profer an advanced data analysis dashboard to show "Major Areas of Protests in the Country", "Major casualties suffered during protests", etc.Key Insights

- Protests have increased drastically in Nigeria from 2010 peaking at around 314 protest in 2014 alone.
- Major areas of protests in Nigeria includes, Ikeja (205), Maiduguri (157), Kano (143), Abuja (83), Aba (59).
- Majority causes of protests includes Boko Haram, Killing, Police Brutality, Unknown Gunmen, Militants, Oil pipelines, etc.
- In 2009, a whopping total duration of 1,700 days pf protests was recorded.
